
Prior to employment at TSU, Mr. McCallister served for twenty-four years in the Air Force, serving as a jet pilot in various flight operations and commanding four combat ready logistics squadrons before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Mr. McCallister’s contract related work prior to coming to TSU centered on contracting and procuring air, land and sea transportation for the Department of Defense. Mr. McCallister has over thirty years of contract administration, procurement and logistics experience, including ten years of contract related higher education experience at Tennessee State University.
A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. McCallister received his bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University, majoring in History, and received his master’s degree in International Relations from Troy State University in Alabama. Mr. McCallister received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Tennessee State University as a Distinguished Graduate in 1973.
